Conservative Republicans have long stood in the way of comprehensive immigration reform. However, there seems to be a possible breakthrough thanks to conservative Christians. The National Association of Evangelicals, the Southern Baptist Convention, and Focus on the Family have all recently stated support for reforming the nation’s immigration laws and putting hard working families on a path to citizenship. The coalition of immigration advocates is growing and this is welcome news.
