  1. Phil, it is worth mentioning that I worked for Elaine Walker back in 2010 in her bid against Bing Lam.
In that contest, Lam garnered 105 votes against Walker’s 165 votes.
This year, I backed Sparbanie, and a total of 17 votes is all that seperated an entrenched popular vice-mayor of 13 years in a small community from a 2 year resident who only became visible in the past 6 months on Town Council. The numbers were astounding.

Further extrapolation revealed that the Walker/Zoldos ticket increased their vote tally by 50 voters from 2010 to 2012, while in that same timeframe, the Sparbanie/Lam side enjoyed a 94 vote increase. That’s fast approaching a 2 to 1 ratio. With 12 voters who lived inside the town, but who’s registrations were too late to be allowed to vote this year, one has to wonder if it wasn’t a near miss this year, since any 9 of those votes would have resulted in a win for Sparbanie.

It is clear that the Town is on a path towards independence from the “establishment” that is a small cadre of individuals who are rabid about defending the past actions of the Council. It is that close, and these recently elected folks might want to soften their tone and reach out to the defeated…. because every failure, every tax increase, every negotiation for the Town Square is being scrutinized. They need not hand us more material to work with…because the numbers are already stacked against them.

  2. What an ass! Oh yeah, the only reason Sparbanie did as well as he did was this a-hole!
