Tom Davis will host a fundraiser for Ken Cuccinelli

I just received a live phone call from a volunteer calling to invite me to a fundraiser former Congressman Tom Davis is holding in honor of Attorney General and gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli. The caller ID was blocked, which is typical with some volunteer phone bankers who use their own phones and have privacy concerns. I never answer the phone if a phone number does not show up on my caller ID so I let the phone call go to my voice mail.

More analysis from me will follow, but in the interim, please read Chris Beer’s excellent analysis anticipating the Tom Davis-Ken Cuccinelli alliance before it even happened.

In my private conversations with some elected officials, this article by Chris Beer has definitely caught their attention. It is a worthwhile read.

As I have said before,He’s BAAAAAACK.

Is Tom Davis trying to rack up some conservative creds? Or something else?

  2. G.Stone says:

Good for Tom Davis. He knows a winner when he sees one. Tom’s stock just bumped up.

  3. Chris says:

This isn’t about Tom and Ken, this is about Tom getting back at the Richmond Junta – Gilmore’s crowd that Bolling comes from – denying him the Senate nomination in 2008. And from what I know, Tom and Ken have always gotten along on a personal level.

Tom Davis supported some things I did not like. In fact some of the things Davis supported may me angry, but I did not detest the man himself. I expect Cuccinelli has a similar attitude. However, as a politician, I am certain he expresses his disapproval more politely than I can manage. In fact, I think I know how he does it. Look at some of things he has said about his Democrat opponents. He takes out his differences with Republican on Democrats.

The MasonConservative article was really interesting, thanks for linking to it.

I just finished reading BVBLs commentary on the endorsement racket and am juxtiposing it with the Davis/Cuccinelli alliance. Not sure how much it really means, since on the surface is seems unnatural to me – much like the Bob Marshall/Bill Bolling endorsement (which I can’t find anywhere, but BVBL lists it).
